"Asking author Ursula Vernon to reveal what hides in The Hollow Places".
The only room that seems to have been left more or less clean is that of her step-grandfather Frederick, who is also dead. When she gets there she is horrified to discover that the house is in much worse shape than she expected and that some rooms are entirely inaccessible. Aware that her grandmother was a hoarder, Mouse expects that the job will take about a month to complete and takes her dog Bongo with her for company as the home is very remote. Mouse has traveled to North Carolina to clear out the home of her recently deceased grandmother, a thoroughly unlikeable and cruel woman.
